A quiet day
Well I don't really have a whole lot to say right now, the girls haven't been home for a couple of days. Oma and Opa picked them (and Wildor) up at about 7:40 yesterday morning and they all went skiing, they met Auntie Margie and Uncle Ken there as well. The girls seemed to have fun, Petra didn't really want to stop, I hear that she did very well with skiing. Adrianah did hurt her ankle but nothing serious, she is able to walk on it and everything, I can handle that! All day while they were gone I kept having thoughts about one of them hurting themselves so they had to come back early cuz they broke a bone or something, and every time the phone rang I would kind of cringe. All in all, nobody was really hurt and they all seemed to have a good time. Wildor was pretty exhausted last night and is still exhausted today, it was quite windy out but it was relatively warm out, lots of fresh air. Oma and Opa took the girls home with them yesterday, after they stopped here for some chili and cornbread that I made. And the girls have been with them today and will stay the night tonight as Wildor and I are going to the silent auction that I am helping at to raise money to go to PEI in July, we will go out to his parents house tomorrow to pick the girls up. I will write more when I have more to say.

Brief conversation
Just wanted to write a brief conversation that Adrianah and I had this morning. I was doing her hair in the living room and with the sun shining on the door it makes noises as it starts to settle and it made a thump kind of sound and Adrianah said "I heard someone stomping their feet" and I said "that was just the door" and she replied "doors don't stomp" I then had to explain to her what the door was doing.
I will try to write more later.

Kids!
After Petra got home from school today the girls were talking and Petra was telling Adrianah how many sleeps till they get to go skiing and Adrianah said “yeah, then we get to go to Omas for a sleepover for 2 sleeps” and after getting that settled Adrianah said “well I am going to snowboard” and Petra (thinking she is Adrianah's mother) said “no you aren't you are going to ski” and Adrianah did the slow booty shake thing like 'na na na' and said in a snotty voice “well mom is thinking about it”. Then they were continuing to talk about skiing and Adrianah said “well there isn't going to be any mans there...” and Petra said “yes there is, Daddy and Opa will be there” and Adrianah said “but there won't be any mans helping me sti” and they sorta continued to converse about going skiing and Adrianah said “well we get to bring our stis home!” and Petra, wide-eyed, said “we do?” and Adrianah said “yeah, but just for the night, after Oma takes us to get them”. That conversation kind of tapered off then Petra was leaning on her chair sideways and Adrianah thought she was going to fall and she pushed the other 2 legs back down and then Petra whispered something to Adrianah (I couldn't hear) but then Petra said to Adrianah “put your arm like this” and proceeded to do the flexing her muscle motion but instead of flexing (like she knows what that is) she more or less just bent at the elbow and her lower arm was resting on her upper arm. So Adrianah did it and Petra felt Adrianah's muscle and said “wow! You are strong!” I just kindof smiled and enjoyed the moments that they were not fighting, but were getting along and having really cute converstaions. Oh the joys of being a parent!
A sunny day
Yet another day is here. Yesterday was pretty good. I picked Adrianah up from Jen's house after my dance class last night, I think she talked the whole way home. She told her secret she had. She whispered it loudly to me, “my secret is I had a book and a string in my bed last night”. She wasn't to happy that she told me that secret because I got a little upset with her and told her it isn't okay to take books to bed when we told her it was to late and she couldn't read in bed and also told her it is dangerous to take a string to bed. Also on the way home I reminded her that in 3 more sleeps she was going to go skiing with Oma, Opa, Daddy, Auntie Ronya and Petra, she was excited and said “but this time I don't want a man to help me! Do I get to go on the big swing?” I told her that she isn't going for lessons so she won't have “a man” helping her, and I told her that she will probably get to go on the big swing too. I also told her that in 2 sleeps Oma will come over and take her and Petra to the rental shop and get their skis and everything and she told me that she just wants one board. She doesn't want to ski, she wants to snowboard. I told her that she would fall down alot and she said “well then I will just get up again and hop, hop, hop around” she is adamant that she snowboards not skis...we may be asking Auntie Ronya to help her out with that one. :)
I wasn't able to participate in my dance class last night, all day my back kept feeling like it was going to go out and I didn't want to be twisting and reaching and everything and throwing it out so I just went and watched the new spin they taught us, I have the means of practicing at home and we can drop in at the studio on thursday nights and saturdays and pay $5 for 30 minutes of practicing and getting one on one help from the instructors if we need to...I am really enjoying my class! It is a really good work out and I am having fun doing it!
I suppose I should get things done around the house so I better leave you with this for now, I will write more later.

Something in the air?
When Wildor came upstairs this morning to check his email and read after getting ready for work, I was cuddled up to him and I just couldn't sleep and I said "why can't I sleep?" and he said "Maybe it is the same reason I couldn't sleep" (whatever that reason is) and it wasn't long before I heard one of the girls in the bathroom. When Adrianah came out, she was upset because she wanted her music on and so I just called to her to have her come in to my bedroom and lay in bed with me for a bit. When Wildor was putting his belt on and gathering his "hardware" to leave for work Adrianah whispered to him "Daddy, I have a secret" and daddy said "do you!?" Adrianah replied with "yes I have two and I am not going to tell you or anyone" I then asked her who told her the secrets and she said "you did" and so I asked her "well then are you going to tell me since they are my secrets?" and she said "I will tell you on Sunday. What day is it today?" and I said "Tuesday" and after thinking for a minute she said "I will tell you on Thursday". We were all up before 7 this morning, it is pretty annoying! I know that I am going to be tired a bit later today and well I just can't take a nap during the day or I can't sleep at night. In fact, it is only 8:30 and I am already feeling tired.
As I said in my last blog, Petra loves school and doesn't like it when I suggest that she stay home and rest, well this morning after she ate her breakfast she came upstairs to tell me that her stomach is really upset and she feels like she needs to throw up, so I told her that if she is feeling that way she should probably stay home. I told her that I have to work so if she went to school I couldn't come get her but if she thought she needed to stay home I would call work and tell them I can't come in, she quickly decided that she would go to school. All of a sudden she was feeling better. Funny how that works!
I mentioned Adrianah with her secret thing, well I am not sure where she got it but is into this "I have a secret" or "shhh its a secret" thing. The other night when I sent them to bed, it was quite a bit later then they normally go to bed and we had just read a story. Anyway Adrianah asked if she could read a book in bed and I told her no because it is past bed time and we just read. When I went up a few minutes later to check on them and make sure they were all tucked in and everything Adrianah was sitting up in her bed and she had her hand over a small mound of blanket so I went in to her room and went up to her and asked her what she had under the blanket and holding one hand over the blanket/mound and putting a finger up to her mouth, she said "shhh its a secret", it took all I had to not burst out laughing! After taking a few breaths, making sure not to laugh I probed a bit more and moved the blanket to find a book. The little stinker! She wasn't to happy when I took the book away from her and told her to just lay down and get to sleep.
As I am typing this up Adrianah informs me that she is only going to tell Aleksia and Auntie her secrets today. She is quite the character! I can only imagine what she will be like in a couple of years, and heaven forbid as a teenager!
Anyway I better peel myself away from the computer and try to get a couple of things done before I have to leave to go to work.

My first blog...
I decided that I would attempt doing this blogging thing, and try to keep people more up to date and whatnot so we will see how this goes.
Maybe I should start with giving a brief update about us. Wildor is doing well with his work, for the most part he enjoys his job and likes what he does. I don't think his boss could really get by without Wildor! On occasion Wildor's boss will call him after Wildor is already home in the day and sometimes on the weekend to ask different questions about the different projects or where to find something on the computer. His job is pretty secure.
I am just working 8 hours a week at 7-11, more or less to get out of the house and also to bring in a little bit extra money. I was working in the evening but it was just to hard on the family for me to be out in the evenings so I now work during the day, my friend drops me off at work and watches Adrianah while I work, its nice to not have to pay someone to watch her! I enjoy what I do and the people that I work with. I am also involved with the Girl Guides and we meet every Wednesday evening besides doing different camps throughout the year (September-May). I am in the guide unit which is girls that are 9-11 years old. We have a total of about 24 girls in our unit. There are 8 girls and 4 adults (that includes myself) from our unit that are fundraising to go to Prince Edward Island for a week in July. I am looking forward to that! Hopefully we will be able to raise the money that we need!
Petra is in grade one and she loves it! It amazes me everyday how well she can read! She doesn't like to miss school at all and I hope that attitude stays with her! She is a very good big sister and helps me out quite a bit with doing things for Adrianah if needed. I can't believe that she is going to be 7 in April! Where did the time go!?
Adrianah is growing way to fast! I can't believe that my baby is going to be 4 at the end of March! Almost makes me cry to think about the fact that she is going to be starting preschool in September. It still amazes me how different Adrianah is from her sister! I never really believed the people when they said that siblings are like night and day until I had kids of my own. Petra has always been so laid back and relaxed and generally quiet. Adrianah on the other hand, is constantly on the go and I don't think that her mouth ever stops moving. My mom has mentioned that Adrianah looks exactly like how I looked like at that age. I have always heard the statement "mothers revenge" man oh man, I guess this is it, I guess I have no one else to blame but myself for the attitude that my child has, bummer! I find it interesting that when I am talking to my mother-in-law and tell her the different things Petra does/did she nods and says "yep, that is Wildor EXACTLY! that's exactly what he did and how he was" and you can tell that Petra is his child, she looks like him! So now whenever he mentions a frustration or something that he has with something she did I look at him and just smile. Because I remind him often that his mom tells me that is what he used to do. We have one each of our own. Hmm sometimes I wonder if there was a third who that child would look like and how they would act. If Adrianah acts how I did, I really don't look forward to when she is a teenager!
The other day we were getting ready to take the kids out to dinner (something we need to try to do more often) Adrianah was getting her coat and shoes on and it looked like she was holding something in her hand so I asked her what it is and she opened her hand and showed me, it was the end of her fingernail (I should have cut them a while ago and didn't so she pulled it off) and I asked her to give it to me and she said "I want to keep it" I asked her why she wanted to keep it and she said "I want to give it to the fingernail fairy". I then had to be the person with the bad news and tell her that there is no such thing as the fingernail fairy. She was quite let down and sad when I told her that. The next day Adrianah asked me "am I going to get a loose tooth soon?" again, having to be the bearer of potentially bad news, I told her that Petra was 6 before she got her first loose tooth so she will probably have to wait a couple more years before she gets a loose tooth. She then told me that she really wants the tooth fairy to come. Poor girl, sees her older sister get "so much" and she gets nothing. Its so hard being a kid! Especially being the younger sister and not getting to play with your older sister and her friends.
